Use Apple Shortcuts to create OpenGraph+ links from Safari

Install The Apple Safari Extension

The OpenGraph+ Safari extension automatically creates a OpenGraph+ link from the web page that you’re currently viewing in just a few clicks via the Apple Shortcuts app. The instructions below will walk you through how to install the extension on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS.

Installation

  1. Install the Apple Shortcuts app
  2. Install the OpenGraph+ Shortcut.

Creating a OpenGraph+ link

After you install the OpenGraph+ shortcut, you can create OpenGraph+ links from the Safari browser on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS.

macOS

To create a link from Safari in macOS, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the “Share Sheet” button.
  2. Towards the bottom of the menu, click “Shortcuts”.
  3. In the Shorcuts window, click “OpenGraph+”
  4. The OpenGraph+ action will open OpenGraph+, if you’re logged into OpenGraph+ you’ll see the title, description, and the URL. Modify those to your liking, then tap “Create Link”
  5. Tap “Copy URL to Clipboard” and you’re set!

iOS and iPadOS

To create a link from Safari in iOS, follow these steps:

  1. Tap on the “Share Sheet” button to open the share sheet.
  2. Scroll down the the bottom of the share sheet and tap on OpenGraph+.
  3. The OpenGraph+ action will open OpenGraph+, if you’re logged into OpenGraph+ you’ll see the title, description, and the URL. Modify those to your liking, then tap “Create Link”
  4. Tap “Copy URL to Clipboard” and you’re set!
