Every Calendly booking link points at a share image that 404s

og:image on a booking page is one stock file for the whole platform, and the file isn't there. Yours, your dentist's, your recruiter's. Same missing picture.

So 'book a time with me' has no picture at all

The link people send to close a deal points at an image that isn't there.

What's actually wrong

A Calendly booking page knows whose calendar it is, what the meeting is called, and how long it runs. None of that reaches the card. og:image is a stock asset shared by every booking page on the platform, and when we fetched it, the CDN answered 404 NoSuchKey. So did twitter:image. We tried it as a browser, as Facebook's crawler, and as WhatsApp's, and got the same answer every time. The tags are well-formed and point at a file that doesn't exist, which means every booking link on the platform is sharing without a picture right now. twitter:card is "summary", the small square variant, so even if the file came back, X would show a thumbnail rather than a card.

This is problem 5 of the 5 ways link previews break. The full breakdown covers the manual fix and the automatic one.

og:image → assets.calendly.com/images/booking/ogimage.png?source=opengraph
GET og:image → 404 <Code>NoSuchKey</Code>, as browser, facebookexternalhit, and WhatsApp
twitter:image → ogimage-twitter.png?source=opengraph → 404
twitter:card → summary (the small one)
og:title → the account name; event type and duration never reach the tags

What that costs downstream

The sender's name is missing from the one link that is about them

A booking link is a personal ask. "Grab 30 minutes with Sam" should show Sam. Instead it points at a stock image, and today that image is a 404, so the card is text on a blank.

Sales teams send thousands of these a day

Every outbound email, every LinkedIn DM, every follow-up text ends in a Calendly link. Each one is a chance to look like a person. Each one currently looks like a product.

Users notice and say so

"This looks super unprofessional" is a real post in Calendly's community, from January 2026. The thread got no staff reply and was closed.

Calendly links live in follow-ups, DMs, and group chats. Here is what they could carry.

For whoever owns the templates

The file is gone

The tag is fine. The S3 key behind it isn't there. Nothing on a booking page will show a picture until someone re-uploads one file, and nobody will notice from inside Calendly.

GET …/booking/ogimage.png → 404 NoSuchKey

twitter:card is "summary", the small one

twitter:card is set to summary, so X shows a square thumbnail beside the text instead of a full-width card. summary_large_image is one word away.

One tag on calendly.com fixes every booking page

OpenGraph+ renders the card from the booking page itself. Calendly adds one meta tag, and every user's link shows that user.
