Every time someone shares your link, the platform fetches your preview image. iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, and Discord first, then the social feeds. OpenGraph+ serves that image, so it sees every fetch, including the cached ones that never show up as renders. Nobody else sits where that image is served from.
Your dashboard shows:
- Fetches by day. A 30-day chart of every preview fetch, so you see the moment a link takes off.
- Fetches by platform. Which apps pull your previews: group chats like iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, and Discord, and feeds like Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
- Where readers are. WhatsApp and iMessage load previews on the reader’s device, so those fetches carry a real location. Platforms that fetch from datacenters carry none, so we never show a made-up map.
These are fetches, not shares. Platforms cache previews and sometimes prefetch, so one share can fetch several times. We count what actually happened and label it honestly. Events are kept for 90 days.
